Aren't these beads beautiful!
Creating a custom keychain with large wood beads is a fun and easy craft project that can add a personal touch to your keys or makes a thoughtful handmade gift for friends, teammates and family.

Before you begin gather this short list of craft materials.
materials needed:
Wood Beads
12mm Wood Beads and 20mm Wood Beads from CraftySticks plus an accent bead for the center of the daisy design.
Key Ring(s)
A split ring or a lobster clasp can be used. We are using a split ring.
Cord or String
Leather, cotton, or nylon cord works well.
Scissors
Any type of cutting tool for cutting your cord or string to desired lengths.
step by step instructions:

Step 1:
Start by tying the string onto the keychain. I simply folded the string in half, and then did the old pull-the-ends-through-the-loop trick so there is no actual knot.
I suggest making it quite a bit longer than you think you need.
You should have two strings in the end — a right and a left of even length. All ready to weave through your wood beads.

Step 2:
Tape the keyring down for easier beading and to keep the threads from tangling.
Step 3:
Start with one 20mm wood bead. Pick up the string that is on the right side. String the 20mm bead onto it from right to left. Then bring the left side string through the same bead from left to right. The string will crisscross inside the bead.

Step 4:
Make the daisy design!
Grab six of your 12mm wood beads and a middle accent bead of similar size.
Then repeat Step 3, but with the two smaller wooden beads. Pulling each side of string through two beads at once. When you pull it taught, they should be centered around the very first bead. You're essentially creating three bead rows that end up looking like a daisy pattern, as shown in the reference picture.
Getting close!

Now just repeat that same process until you have two or three full flowers, whichever you prefer. You can end with the larger spacer bead or with the daisy design. Both look cute!
Tie a simple knot at the end and you're all done!

Handmade gifts!
Create a set of identical keychains or bag charms for all your friends or teammates. Write or paint names or initials on the the wood beads to personalize.
CraftySticks unfinished wood beads take paint, stain and markers really well!
Customize it!
If you wish to personalize your keychain even more consider the following ideas:
PAINT & SEAL: Use acrylic paint to add patterns or colors to your beads. Seal with a clear sealer like Mod Podge for durability.
ADD CHARMS: Incorporate small beaded charms or woven tassels for additional flair!
ENGRAVING WOOD BEADS: If you have the tools, engraving initials or small designs on your wood beads can add a unique touch.
